A – 2 days/ 1 night
DAY 1
Arriving at around noon at Krang Chek, you’ll be greeted by an English-speaking guide at the Information Center and given a talk explaining the history of the Phnom Tob Cheang community, and given some insights into how the locals live.
After lunch at the Women’s Restaurant, we’ll visit some of the nearby villages that make up by Community, meet some of the locals and learn more about how they live and work in a rural village. You’ll meet a group of local women who will teach you to make traditional using natural materials from the forest of livelihood. Then we’ll visit your homestay and meeting the owner and family who you’ll be staying with. Next we’ll travel by motor to the nearby area of where you’ll walk through a forest up to a lookout point where you’ll have a great view over the villages. On our walk back down, you’ll have a chance to go watching the bird in the lake and by the routs.
Early evening, we’ll return to the Information Center. After that, you’ll have dinner before returning to your homestay where you can chat with the homestay family before bedtime.
DAY 2
After breakfast, we will travel Tractor for 5km along a rout path before continuing on foot, go up through the waterfall. On this half hour hike, a local guide will take you to see young local catch fish and Chleung. At the end of the hike the by tractor or motor will take you back to the center for a well-earned lunch.
After lunch you can say good-bye to the community before leaving.
B – 4 days/ 3 nights
DAY 1
Arriving at around noon in Tob Cheang, you’ll be taken to your homestay and meet the family you’ll be staying with. We’ll then head to the Information Center and explain the history of the Tob Cheang villages, and offer some insight into how the locals live today. You’ll then get a lesson in traditional cooking from some of the women who run the Women’s Restaurant co-operative.
DAY 2
After breakfast, your guide will take you on a cycle ride around the Tob Cheang villages, meeting some of the locals along the way and getting a feel for how it is to live in a rural village. From July to December, you’ll also be able to walk in the rice fields and learn how to grow and harvest rice. Next we’ll travel by tractor to the nearby area of Lake where you’ll walk through a forest up to a lookout point where you’ll have a great view over the villages. On the walk down, you’ll have a chance to go swimming in the river (Picnic Lunch) .
Early evening, we’ll then return to the Information Center to see some of the local and talk about their lifestyle. You’ll then have dinner before returning to your homestay where you can chat with the homestay family before bedtime.
DAY 3
After breakfast, you’ll go with your guide on a day hike of 15km up through the forest to the top of a waterfall for a great view from the edge of the mountain over the villages, forest and rice fields. A bit further on, we’ll go swimming by a waterfall, eat a picnic lunch and have time to relax in hammocks under the trees or tent.
Early evening, we’ll have dinner before spending the night in the forest.
DAY 4
After breakfast, we will travel by foot, climbing up through the forest. On this 3 hour hike, a local guide will take you to three waterfalls and a bat cave and explain more about the local flora and fauna. At the end of the hike, tractor or motor will take you back to the Information Center for a well-earned lunch.
After lunch, you can say good-bye to the community before leaving.
